Plateau, Political Dismissal, Governor Mutfwang, Sack, Suspension

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has sacked six political appointees and suspended the Chairman of the State House of Assembly Service Commission, Johnbull Shekarau, in a move aimed at repositioning his administration.

The development was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Samuel Jatau, who said the decision was part of efforts to improve efficiency, service delivery and align government operations with its strategic priorities.

Those relieved of their duties include Timothy Golu, Special Adviser on Strategic Communications; Gwottson Fom, Liaison Officer for Jos South; Nambol Rimvyat and Nannim Langyi, both from Langtang North; Paul Datugum from Qua’an Pan North; and Rimchak Rims from Langtang South.

The governor also approved the suspension of Shekarau over alleged conduct inconsistent with the standards expected of his office, noting that the matter is currently under review.

All affected officials have been directed to hand over government property and official documents in their possession to the appropriate authorities with immediate effect.

The action reportedly followed political developments within the state, including a factional congress of the Peoples Democratic Party in Jos attended by some of the affected individuals.
