Phyna Accuses Iyabo Ojo of Abandonment Over VDM Association, calls him ‘Very Dirty Boy’

Big Brother Naija winner Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has claimed that veteran actress Iyabo Ojo distanced herself from her due to her association with activist VeryDarkMan (VDM). Speaking during a recent live session on Monday, January 12, 2026, Phyna expressed her disappointment in the actress, whom she previously regarded as a mentor and "godmother." Phyna alleged that the friction began when she refused to take sides in the ongoing feud between Iyabo Ojo and VDM, leading the actress to reportedly "cut her off" and stop supporting her publicly.
During the outburst, Phyna directed her anger toward VeryDarkMan, referring to him as a "Very Dirty Boy" and accusing him of being the root cause of her strained relationships within the entertainment industry. She claimed that while she tried to maintain a neutral stance, the toxicity surrounding VDM’s brand has made her a target for many veterans in Nollywood. "I don’t know why everyone is shifting away from me because of one person," Phyna stated. "Iyabo Ojo was like a mother to me, but now everything has changed just because I didn't join in the 'war' against that dirty boy."
Phyna, however, maintained that she remains independent and will not be intimidated by "industry cliques," even as she continues to hurl insults at VDM for his perceived role in the fallout.
