PFN Honors Ron Kenoly, Celebrates Legacy of Gospel Icon

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has publicly honoured the memory of Dr. Ron Kenoly, the celebrated American gospel singer and worship leader who passed away at age 81 on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. His death sparked tributes from Christian communities and musicians around the world.
In a heartfelt message, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, President of the PFN, remembered Kenoly as a devoted worshipper and man of deep spiritual conviction whose life’s work was devoted to glorifying God. Bishop Oke described him as “a true worshipper” whose music and ministry touched countless lives and nations. He also offered prayers of comfort for Kenoly’s wife, children and grandchildren, asking that the Holy Spirit strengthen them during this time of loss.
Kenoly’s influence on contemporary Christian worship was significant. Known for his vibrant praise music and dynamic leadership in worship services, his songs and recordings helped shape praise and worship ministry across churches worldwide. After news of his passing, Nigerian gospel artists such as Nathaniel Bassey and Frank Edwards also took to social media to honour his enduring impact on their ministries and on global worship culture.
The PFN tribute highlights not only Kenoly’s artistic achievements but also the spiritual depth and legacy of a leader whose music and message resonated across generations.
