The Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has called on Christians to reflect the virtues of Jesus Christ by embracing love, sacrifice and selflessness as they celebrate Easter.
In his Easter message, the governor emphasised that the season goes beyond festivities, urging the faithful to internalise the core lessons of Christ’s life and apply them in their daily interactions.
Oyebanji highlighted the significance of Christ’s sacrifice, noting that it serves as a model for compassion, humility and perseverance, which Christians should strive to emulate.
He also encouraged residents to promote peaceful coexistence and unity, stressing the importance of love and tolerance in fostering a harmonious society.
The governor further urged Nigerians to use the Easter period as an opportunity for reflection, prayer and renewed commitment to values that strengthen communities and national cohesion.
Easter, which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, remains a significant moment for Christians worldwide, symbolising hope, redemption and the triumph of good over evil.
