Popular Nigerian singer and "Boo of the Booless" star, Chike, took to social media on Monday morning, March 16, 2026, to publicly call out a woman identified as Chioma Nneoma Ochibili. In a series of startling posts on X (formerly Twitter), the singer alleged that he was defrauded of $20,000 after investing in a business venture that turned out to be nonexistent.
Chike expressed his shock and disappointment, describing the individual as a "thief" who uses the guise of legitimate business to live off others' hard-earned money. "How do I find out this late that I’m just another person she has duped?" he wrote, adding that a total of $50,000 was at stake in the transaction. Despite his frustration, the singer appeared to take the situation in stride, mockingly laughing at himself for falling for the alleged scam.
When questioned by followers about the specific nature of the business, Chike was quick to pivot, stating that the details of the "product" were irrelevant compared to the fact that the business was a total sham. He warned his fans and the general public to be wary of any dealings with Ochibili, asserting that her primary "business" is fraud.
The singer also confirmed that he has already initiated formal processes to recover the lost funds. As of Monday afternoon, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili has yet to issue a public response to the heavy allegations.
Do you think celebrities are easier targets for these types of business scams because of their public profiles, or was this simply a case of an investment gone wrong? Share your comments below!
