Superstar Lionel Messi starred for Inter Miami on Sunday, scoring twice to inspire a stunning comeback and secure a 4-2 victory over Orlando City in Major League Soccer’s spirited Florida derby.

The reigning MLS champions appeared to be heading for another defeat after Orlando City raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half through goals from Marco Pašalić and Martín Ojeda before the break.

However, Inter Miami hit back in emphatic fashion after the interval. Substitute Mateo Silvetti got the comeback underway with a long-range strike, and Messi pulled the score level with a fine finish shortly afterwards.

Messi’s influence continued late in the contest, as he set up a crucial goal for Telasco Segovia to put Miami ahead before sealing the win himself with a superb free-kick in the 90th minute.

The result marked Inter Miami’s first win of the MLS season, turning around a challenging start and delighting supporters with a vibrant second-half display.
