FIFA World Cup, Tickets

Demand for tickets to the FIFA World Cup has surged dramatically, with many fans facing sharply rising prices and limited availability as the tournament draws closer, according to the latest report.

The football governing body FIFA said ticket sales have hit unprecedented levels, with the most sought-after matches including games involving traditional powerhouses selling out rapidly, forcing supporters to turn to resale markets.

Official figures show a significant jump in ticket purchases, outpacing previous World Cups at corresponding stages, as fans around the world rush to secure seats for the sport’s biggest event.

The high demand has had a knock-on effect on secondary ticket channels, where prices have soared well above face value, leaving many supporters frustrated and warning about potential exploitation of the resale market.

FIFA has urged fans to use official ticketing platforms only, stressing that buying from unauthorised sellers increases the risk of fraud and invalid tickets. The governing body also highlighted that the final phases of sales include various ticket categories, from single-match offers to team-specific packages.

As excitement builds ahead of the tournament, fans are being advised to plan early and monitor official channels closely to avoid paying inflated prices or missing out entirely on the chance to witness the action live.
