Don Jazzy

Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has revealed that the toughest moment in his long career was the day he had to let singer Di’ja leave his label. Speaking on a recent episode of the "Crea8torium" podcast, the famous music executive explained that the experience was very emotional for him because he treats all his artists like his own children. He recalled that the day the decision was made, the atmosphere was very tense and heavy, and even Di’ja could see how uncomfortable and sad he was about the whole situation.

Don Jazzy shared that the moment was so painful that everyone in the room started crying, including Di’ja herself. He said the singer even questioned the team on why they had to involve him in such a difficult conversation when they knew how much it would hurt him. Because of how badly that day affected him, Don Jazzy revealed that he has vowed never to be the one to tell an artist they are leaving the label again. He has now handed over such tasks to his team members, Tega and Rima, so he can avoid that kind of heartbreak in the future.

Di’ja first joined Mavin Records back in February 2014 and became a household name with hits like "Awww." Although she stopped being an active part of the label's main roster after a few years, she once clarified that she never really "left" in a bad way, but that life and family happened. Don Jazzy’s recent comments show the deep bond he shares with his artists beyond just business. He used the opportunity to dismiss rumors that he favors some artists over others, insisting that he invests in everyone to see them succeed.
