Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator, Ekene Clinton Egbuna, known to many as Klinton Cod, has finally shared the painful story behind the end of his 13-year marriage. In a series of emotional posts on his X handle, the entertainer revealed that his divorce was recently finalized. Klinton admitted that while ending the marriage was the right decision for both parties, it was still a very difficult thing for him to process. He explained that he has been struggling with his emotions because 13 years is a long time to spend with one person, and letting go was not easy at all.
The 35-year-old comedian also shared that his failed marriage was actually the main reason why he stopped making comedy skits for a while. He went through a double tragedy as he also lost his mother unexpectedly during the same period the marriage was crashing. Klinton described the experience as losing the two most important women in his life at the same time, which left him in a very dark place. He noted that the heavy burden of grief and the stress of the divorce made it impossible for him to be funny or creative for his fans during that season.
Addressing rumors about his marriage to a white woman, Klinton cleared the air by saying that race was not the cause of their problems. He mentioned that he has seen many Nigerians marry within their own tribes and still divorce after just a few years, so people should stop blaming the failure on his ex-wife's background. For now, the comedian says he is not thinking about getting married again anytime soon unless something "divine" happens. He is currently focusing on his mental health and moving forward with his life after such a major setback.
