Kwankwaso Laments Neglect After Helping Buhari Win in 2015

Kwankwaso

The former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed his pain over how he was treated after the 2015 general elections. Speaking recently, the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) claimed that despite delivering nearly two million votes from Kano to help Muhammadu Buhari become President, he did not get any appreciation or recognition. Kwankwaso noted that his hard work and the massive support from his followers were the main reasons the All Progressives Congress (APC) gained such a huge victory in the North at that time.

Kwankwaso explained that after the government was formed, he and his supporters were pushed to the side while people who did not work as hard took the front seat. He stated that he expected the administration to reward the loyalty of Kano voters with development projects and key positions, but that did not happen. According to him, this lack of fairness and the failure to honor political agreements is what eventually led to his exit from the APC. He believes that his contribution was ignored despite the clear facts and figures from the election results.

The former governor made it clear that he has moved on and is now focused on building the NNPP to provide a better alternative for Nigerians. He mentioned that he has no regrets about his political journey because he always acts in the interest of the masses. Kwankwaso used the opportunity to remind politicians that ignoring those who helped them get to power is a mistake that often comes with consequences. He urged his supporters to remain steadfast as they prepare for future political challenges in the country.
