A PUBLIC APPEAL FOR JUSTICE ON THE KILLING OF OGHENEMINE OGIDI

To: The Federal Government of Nigeria,
The Inspector General of Police,
The Delta State Government,
And Relevant Authorities

We, at Wisdom House Charitable Trust Fund, write with deep sorrow and concern over the tragic killing of Mr. Oghenemine Ogidi in Delta State.
The reported circumstances surrounding his death being shot while already in police custody raise serious questions about the protection of human rights, the rule of law, and the conduct of law enforcement officers entrusted with the safety of citizens.
While we acknowledge reports that the officer involved has been apprehended, this alone is not enough. Justice must not only be initiated but must be seen to be carried out fully and transparently.
We respectfully call for:
* A thorough, independent, and transparent investigation into the incident
* The swift prosecution of all individuals found culpable
* Clear communication to the public on the progress of the case
* Stronger measures to prevent future occurrences of such acts

No Nigerian life should be taken unlawfully, regardless of the circumstances. The right to life and due process must remain sacrosanct and protected at all times.
We stand in solidarity with the family of the deceased and all Nigerians who seek a safer, more just society.
We urge the relevant authorities to act decisively and ensure that justice is served.

Signed
Wisdom House Charitable Trust Fund
