Islamic Group Urges FG to Cut Ties with Israel, Condemn US Over Iran Conflict

An Islamic organisation, Al-Harakatul Islamiyyah, has urged the Federal Government to cut diplomatic relations with Israel and take a clear position against the United States over the ongoing tensions involving Iran.
The group made this appeal during its Quds Day event, held to show support for Palestinians and draw attention to rising tensions in the Middle East.
In a statement issued by its Amir, AbdulRazzaq AbdulWahab Al-Amin Aladodo, the organisation criticised Nigeria’s neutral stance, arguing that it indirectly supports what it described as ongoing aggression in the region. It maintained that merely calling for peace without identifying those responsible falls short of meaningful action.
According to the group, Nigeria should go beyond symbolic diplomacy and adopt a stronger, more decisive approach to the crisis. It specifically called for a severance of ties with Israel, citing alleged violations in Gaza and concerns surrounding access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The organisation also connected the situation involving Iran to the wider Palestinian struggle, describing Iran’s role as significant in resisting Israeli actions.
Beyond Nigeria, the group appealed to Muslim-majority nations, especially those within the Gulf Cooperation Council, to review their foreign alliances and remove foreign military presence from their territories.
It emphasised the need for unity among Muslim countries, warning that internal divisions continue to weaken collective efforts in addressing the Palestinian issue.
The group further criticised recent diplomatic engagements between some Arab nations and Israel, including the Abraham Accords, stating that such moves undermine Palestinian interests. It specifically advised countries like the United Arab Emirates to avoid renewing ties with Israel amid the current tensions.
Quds Day, observed annually in several parts of the world, is dedicated to advocating for Palestinian rights and opposing Israeli control over Jerusalem, particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Yes, really! God can heal your appetite. Bread is a second cause; the LORD Himself is the first source of our sustenance. He can work without the second cause as well as with it; and we must not tie Him down to one mode of operation. Let us not be too eager after the visible, but let us look to the invisible God.
