“I’m Staying Out of Politics” — Toyin Abraham Rejects Unconsulted Inclusion in Lagos APC Campaign Council

Nollywood star and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has publicly distanced herself from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council in Lagos State, rejecting her reported inclusion in the party’s campaign structure.

The actress issued the clarification after her name appeared alongside other notable entertainment figures—including Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola, and Wasiu Alabi Pasuma—in the published directorate document for the campaign. Taking to social media, Abraham emphasized that she was never consulted prior to the announcement and urged the public to disregard reports linking her to any political campaign body.

“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee... I didn’t do it because of any bully. I did it because it was the right thing to do. I woke up and saw my name on a list I knew absolutely nothing about.”

The development follows previous public backlash the filmmaker experienced over her endorsement of President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections. Clarifying her current stance, Abraham stated that her decision to reject the listing was a personal choice to remain politically neutral going forward rather than a response to online pressure, reaffirming that she has completely stepped away from political involvement.
