Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has shared a heartbreaking plea for financial assistance. The embattled movie star, who has been vocal about her health struggles for several years, revealed on Monday, February 9, 2026, that she is in desperate need of funds to undergo critical surgeries on her brain and spleen.

In an emotional post shared on her social media platforms, Halima expressed her exhaustion with the continuous cycle of seeking help, stating that her condition has reached a stage where immediate medical intervention is her only hope for survival. "I am tired of begging; I need money for my brain and spleen surgery," she cried out, highlighting the severity of her current health crisis.

Halima has previously shared details about her struggles with a chronic illness that she once claimed was linked to spiritual and physical complications. While she has received support from various quarters in the past, the high cost of specialized surgeries has seemingly exhausted her personal resources and previous donations.

Many are calling on industry guilds, such as the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), and well-meaning Nigerians to intervene swiftly to save the life of the talented actress.

How can the Nigerian entertainment industry create a more sustainable support system for veteran actors facing health crises? Do you believe there is enough awareness about the medical needs of our stars? Share your comments below!
