Senator Gada

The Sokoto State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a sharp rebuttal regarding the political status of Senator Abubakar Gada, declaring that he has never been a registered member of the party. In a statement released on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the party leadership sought to clear the air following reports linking the Senator to their fold.

The ADC maintained that while it remains open to new members, there are official procedures for joining the party, which they claim Senator Gada has not fulfilled.

The party’s leadership in Sokoto emphasized that any claims suggesting the Senator is a member of the ADC are "false and misleading." They urged the public and party faithful to disregard any news portraying him as part of the party’s structure in the state.

“We wish to state categorically that Senator Abubakar Gada is not a member of the ADC in Sokoto State. He was never our member, and he does not hold any position within our ranks,” the party stated. “The ADC is a party of integrity with a clear vision, and we will not allow our platform to be used for political speculation.”

As of the time of the report, Senator Gada has not issued a formal response to the party’s statement.

Why do you think political parties are becoming more vocal about who is or isn't a member? Is this a sign of the ADC protecting its brand ahead of the next elections? Drop your comments below!
