Former lawmakers in Ekiti State have declared support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji, pledging to mobilise grassroots backing ahead of upcoming elections.
The endorsement was made under the aegis of the National Forum of Former Legislators (NFFL), Ekiti State chapter, during its inauguration, which drew participation from ex-members of the National Assembly, the Ekiti State House of Assembly, and former councillors across the state.
In a communiqué issued after the event, the group expressed confidence in the leadership of both Tinubu and Oyebanji, citing their commitment to governance, development, and democratic consolidation.
The former legislators also pledged to leverage their experience in governance to provide advisory support and contribute to improved service delivery at various levels of government.
They further assured that members of the forum would actively mobilise support across communities in Ekiti State to ensure Oyebanji’s re-election, noting that his administration had shown dedication to the state’s growth and progress.
The development highlights growing political alignment within the state, as stakeholders continue to position ahead of future electoral contests.
