Relationship expert and social media personality Blessing CEO has reacted publicly after a Lagos court discharged and acquitted auto dealer Ikechukwu Darry Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, in the long-running legal case surrounding the death of his late wife, Bimbo. The acquittal came on December 15, 2025, bringing an end to a four-year ordeal that drew national attention and widespread debate.
In a statement shared on her Instagram page, Blessing CEO expressed relief and joy, calling the court’s decision “it ended in praise” after years of tears and what she described as “false narratives.” She added that Nigeria’s justice system had proven that it works, celebrated the acquittal, and encouraged IVD to reclaim his life now that the legal battle is over. Her exact words included “Discharged and acquitted…December 15, 2025…Nigeria’s justice system still works…you can now have your life back. Congratulations.”
The case began after Bimbo Ogbonna died in October 2022 under controversial circumstances that included allegations of domestic violence and a fire incident at the couple’s home. IVD was later arrested and charged in connection with her death, sparking public outrage and extensive media coverage. Blessing CEO, who had publicly supported IVD during the trial, became a central figure in the narrative, frequently defending him online and attracting both support and criticism over her stance.
