APGA, e-Membership Registration, 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced that it will begin a continuous electronic membership registration nationwide from 1 March 2026, as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

At a news conference in Awka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr Ejimofor Opara, said the exercise will be held simultaneously across all 8,809 electoral wards in Nigeria. He described the initiative as a demonstration of APGA’s commitment to innovation, transparency and inclusivity in its administration.

APGA first automated its membership process in June 2024, making it the first political party in the country to do so. The re-opened e-registration will allow interested Nigerians to join or update their membership records ahead of the next general polls.

Prospective members must present a valid voter’s card and two passport photographs to complete the process. Registrations can be completed online via the party’s official website, through WhatsApp, or at ward registration centres where forms are available. Temporary membership slips will be issued upon completion, with permanent cards to follow.

Existing members who have already registered electronically are not required to re-register, though those who have not uploaded passport photographs are urged to update their records.

APGA said the membership drive aims to build on its progress so far and boost its numbers toward a target of two million members, strengthening its grassroots presence ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
