Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has reportedly attempted to take her own life as a result of emotional distress following a failed relationship with Lagos-based cleric Pastor Chris Okafor of Grace Nation Bible Ministry. Ogala took to social media to accuse the pastor of breaking a long-term romantic commitment after he allegedly promised to marry her but became engaged to another woman. Her public statement, shared on her Instagram page, revealed that the betrayal left her deeply hurt and struggling to cope, and she said she almost committed suicide after seeing the news of his engagement.

In a video widely circulated online, Ogala said she had been in an intimate relationship with Okafor since 2017, and that she ended her own marriage at his encouragement, believing there would be a future together. She claimed that the pastor’s engagement to a new partner and the perceived betrayal shattered her emotionally, contributing to a severe decline in her mental health. In her tearful message, Ogala explained that she felt betrayed after investing years of her life in the relationship.

The actress also made disturbing allegations that other traumatic experiences occurred during the relationship, including miscarriage and family losses she attributed, in part, to the fallout of her involvement with the cleric. Ogala’s emotional outburst included claims that explicit videos and personal images were shared without her consent, intensifying her sense of humiliation and distress. These allegations have heightened public concern and sparked widespread discussion about the emotional well-being of individuals in high-profile and vulnerable situations.

The pastor has not yet publicly responded to Ogala’s accusations, and it is unclear whether any legal action has been taken concerning her claims. The incident has opened up conversations about mental health, emotional trauma, and the responsibilities of public figures in personal relationships. Many Nigerians are urging for empathy, counselling support, and careful handling of situations that affect people’s mental health.
