Joe Igbokwe, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, has declared that the Igbo community within the party is fully committed to ensuring President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 general elections. Igbokwe, who serves as the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Drainage and Water Resources, made this statement during a recent gathering of the "Igbos in APC" group.
Addressing the crowd, Igbokwe emphasized that the Igbo people living in Lagos have benefited significantly from the progressive leadership of the APC over the years. He argued that it is in the best interest of the South-East and Igbos in the diaspora to support the "Renewed Hope" agenda of the current administration. According to him, the group is already mobilizing at the grassroots level to ensure a massive turnout and a clean sweep for the President in the next election cycle.
Igbokwe insists that sticking with the ruling party is the most strategic path for Igbos to remain at the center of national politics. He dismissed claims of marginalization, stating that the APC remains an inclusive platform for all ethnic groups.
Do you agree with Joe Igbokwe that supporting the APC is the best move for Igbos in Lagos? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
