Giving Thanks At All Times Part 1
In 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” To give thanks even when you are hurting is astonishing! The scripture cannot be broken. The above verse clearly indicates God wants every believer to express gratitude. Thanksgiving was never intended to be seasonal, but was meant to be a way of life for every child of God. God understands we do not always feel grateful, but thanking Him has nothing to do with feelings, it is an act of the will.
Do you realise that thanksgiving has such a powerful impact on our lives. Expressing our gratitude to God means that we are in one way talking to God. Staying in communication with Him keeps us mindful of His presence and that we are not alone in the challenges confronting us. When we embark on thanking God no matter what we might be going through, we become motivated to look for His purpose in our situation. If we come to the realization that He has a purpose for our lives, such discovery might help to take the edge off our pain and infuse us with His strength when we become wearied by life’s hardships.
Thanking God gives our Christian witness a powerful impact. For instance, if our friends or colleagues wonder why we still show gratitude despite the agonies we go through, then we have the opportunity to respond, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.”
Finally, thanking our Heavenly Father reminds us of our constant dependence upon Him for everything. When we start to feel adequate in ourselves, we have a tendency to think we can handle matters without Him. But when we feel trapped and helpless, we can thank Him for being our only hope, and then we can gradually submit our will to His.

Ye are the light of the world; a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
