Here is the thing about God. He is so big and so perfect that we can’t really understand Him. We can’t possess Him, or apprehend Him. But God so wants to be in relationship with us that He makes himself small, smaller than He really is, smaller and more humble than his infinite, perfect self, so that we might be able to get to Him, a little bit.

One of the keys to success as a Christian is obedience to God’s divine instructions; obey the Word of God. If you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land. In this New Year, be an obedient child of God. The opposite of ignorance is obedience and not knowledge, as some people would make us believe. What is the use of what you know but do not apply it to your life?
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man, beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

An obedient man is a good man and obtains favour from the Lord. Though he may encounter persecutions, yet he shall come out of trouble. His house shall stand the test of time. God does not have favourites but He is a God of principle. He favours anyone that cares to favour Him.

That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
