A viral video from a Saturday evening event in Lagos shows how Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola publicly rebuked popular influencer Enioluwa for addressing her by her first name. The incident occurred while Toriola was greeting colleagues Ini Edo and Eniola Ajao; when Enioluwa approached with a hug and asked, “Wumi, how are you?”, the actress immediately pushed him back.

"Are you insane? Did you just call my name?" Toriola asked in the video, visibly angered. She further insisted that due to their age difference, a casual greeting was inappropriate, stating, “You can’t greet me like that; you will have to prostrate to greet me. We are not mates.” Enioluwa attempted to de-escalate the situation, claiming he had actually said "Aunty Wumi," but the confrontation has since divided fans on social media.

Following the backlash and online debates regarding her actual age, Wumi Toriola took to her Instagram story to set the record straight and clarify her seniority. She revealed she finished secondary school in 2003. "Na all my family get baby face," she added. According to public records, Wumi Toriola was born in July 1988, making her 37 years old, while Enioluwa was born in July 1999, making him 26.

The 11-year age gap has led many supporters to defend Toriola, citing the cultural importance of "Aunty" or "Senior" titles in Nigerian social etiquette.
