Trump Welcomed with Royal Pageantry at Windsor Castle on Historic State Visit

On September 17, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump landed at Windsor Castle for his second state visit to the United Kingdom, where he was formally greeted by Prince William and Princess Kate before meeting King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The day’s programme was steeped in tradition: a carriage procession through the grounds, a ceremonial welcome complete with a military guard of honour, and a state banquet in the evening.
Security around Windsor Castle has been heightened amid protest activity. Just hours before Trump’s arrival, four men were arrested after projecting controversial images of Trump and Jeffrey Epstein onto the castle walls, prompting an investigation for malicious communications.
The visit is notable as no U.S. president has previously been invited for a second state visit to the UK, marking this one as unprecedented. This carries both diplomatic weight and domestic scrutiny, especially given Trump’s policies and past controversies.
