Super Falcons Crowned WAFCON Champions

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), reclaiming their position as queens of African football.

Nigeria defeated their final opponents in a tense and hard-fought match to lift their 12th continental title. The match, played under high pressure, saw the Super Falcons display solid teamwork and discipline, with key contributions from players like Asisat Oshoala and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the team for making the nation proud. The Nigeria Football Federation is also expected to announce cash rewards and national honours in the coming days.
