 Law School Students Kidnapped

Six students of the Nigerian Law School have been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen while travelling to the institution’s Yola campus in Adamawa State. The abduction occurred along the Nasarawa–Benue road over the weekend, according to family sources who confirmed the development on Monday. The students were said to be on their way to resume at the Yola campus when their vehicle was intercepted.

The kidnappers have since contacted the families and are demanding a ransom of ₦20 million for their release. One of the relatives of a victim said the abductors initially demanded ₦50 million but later reduced it to ₦20 million after negotiations. There has been no official statement yet from the Nigerian Law School or the police regarding the incident.

This latest abduction raises fresh worries about the ongoing insecurity in the country, particularly as it affects the education sector. Families of the victims are pleading for swift intervention from authorities to secure the release of the students unharmed.
