Simon Guobadia Deported to Nigeria After ICE Detention

Simon Guobadia, the ex‑husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, has been deported to Nigeria following his detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Georgia this week . The 61-year-old entrepreneur was held after overstaying his visa and is reported to have used a false identity to maintain permanent residency.
Guobadia faced decades of immigration scrutiny—entering the U.S. in 1982, receiving deportation orders in 1985 and 1992, and being arrested for bank and credit card fraud in the late '80s . Despite obtaining a green card under an alias, his 2016 citizenship application was denied due to the unlawful status of his residency .
This development comes amid an already bitter divorce battle. Williams had obtained exclusive rights to their marital home, while Guobadia later sued her for defamation, accusing her of implying he had erectile dysfunction . The missed court appearances due to his detention have delayed ongoing hearings, which he’ll now attend virtually from Nigeria.
