Political activist Reno Omokri has released a video challenging recent claims by President Bola Tinubu that 30 kilometers of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway have already been completed. The footage, which has since gone viral, shows large portions of the project still under construction or untouched.

Omokri, a fierce critic of the current administration, described the president’s statement as misleading and urged Nigerians to verify government claims with evidence. In the video, he is seen inspecting various parts of the coastal highway route, pointing out incomplete stretches and construction equipment stationed at idle sites.

The federal government had earlier announced rapid progress on the flagship infrastructure project, highlighting it as a key symbol of Tinubu’s development agenda. However, the discrepancies exposed by Omokri have sparked fresh debate about transparency and accountability in reporting public works.

Critics say the situation reflects a pattern of overstatements aimed at bolstering public confidence, while supporters argue that road construction projects of such scale require time and should not be judged prematurely. The controversy continues to draw attention online, with calls for independent monitoring of major federal projects.
