Reno Omokiri statements on the installation of solar power in Aso Rock by president Bola Tinubu
Olamilekan Boluwatife

Lord Lugard said this about Nigerians a hundred years ago. Was he wrong:

"The typical African of this race-type is a happy, thriftless, excitable person, lacking in self-control, discipline, and foresight."-Frederick Lugard, page 70 of the Dual Mandate.
Now, ask yourself, did Lugard lie?
Not one person has costed the solar panel for Aso Rock and established that the price is inflated. But because one person had triggered your emotions, you just rushed and excitably started making claims whose veracity you are unsure of.
I worked and lived in Aso Rock for four years. The place is a mini city. Please fact-check me: Every year, the Federal Government spend an average of ₦1.5 to ₦2 billion paying electricity bills for the Presidential Villa.
Installing solar panels to generate renewable electricity that can last thirty to forty years is cost-effective.
Our President is a First Class Honours (cum laude) accountant. He would prefer to pay a large sum once rather than pay it annually forever.
You should try to independently compare what other nations have spent on converting their Presidential quarters from orthodox to renewable energy sources. If you see a disparity, then return here to insult me. But if you do not, then hold your peace.
Think before you insult. Engage your brain before you use your mouth.
