Prince Harry, King Charles, Reunion

Prince Harry met with his father, King Charles III, for a private tea at Clarence House in London on 10 September 2025, marking their first face-to-face reunion since February 2024. The gathering took place amid significant strain in their relationship, catalysed by Harry’s public criticisms, including his memoir Spare, and the King’s disclosure of cancer treatment in early 2024.

Though precise details of the conversation remain private, the nearly hour-long encounter, estimated at around 54 minutes, was widely interpreted by royal observers as a potentially healing moment. Commentators noted the discreet and low-key nature of the arrangement, signalling both caution and hope for reconciliation.

Prince Harry, who travelled from California for a brief visit to mark the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing and to fulfil charitable commitments including the Invictus Games and WellChild Awards, emerged from the meeting and offered a notably positive update when asked if his father was well: “Yes, he’s great, thank you.”

While this private reunion offers a glimmer of thawing relations, royal watchers stress that genuine reconciliation will require time, rebuilding of trust, and perhaps further efforts from both sides.Nonetheless, this moment may represent a meaningful step toward rapprochement following 19 months of estrangement.
