Peter Obi Is My Greatest Disappointment Ahead of 2027 — Sowunmi

Peter Obi

Political commentator and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Sowunmi, has described Peter Obi as his greatest political disappointment ahead of the 2027 general elections. Sowunmi made the remark during a media interview, expressing frustration with what he called Obi's lack of strategic direction since the 2023 polls.

According to Sowunmi, he had high hopes for the Labour Party presidential candidate, believing Obi would build a strong, issue-based opposition movement. Instead, he claimed Obi has fallen short of expectations, failing to maintain political momentum or articulate a clear roadmap for national engagement.

He criticized Obi’s post-election conduct, suggesting that the former Anambra governor has remained too passive in the face of national challenges. Sowunmi emphasized that Nigeria needs active and visionary leadership from all corners of the political space, particularly those who aspire to lead.

While Peter Obi has remained vocal on policy issues and governance, Sowunmi’s comments reflect a broader concern among some political observers who feel the Labour Party must evolve from a campaign platform into a structured national force ahead of 2027.
