Peter Obi Donates ₦15 Million to UNN Dentistry Department to Aid Accreditation

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, has donated ₦15 million to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Dentistry Department. The donation is aimed at supporting the department’s efforts to retain its accreditation, which has recently come under threat due to infrastructural and equipment deficiencies.

Obi, who made the contribution during a visit to the university, emphasized the importance of strengthening Nigeria’s health education sector. He said that access to quality medical training is essential for building a healthier nation and stressed the need for public and private intervention to save key academic programs across the country. UNN officials expressed gratitude, noting that the funds would be used to upgrade essential equipment and improve learning facilities.
