On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Pastor Tunde Bakare, founder of the Citadel Global Community Church and former vice-presidential candidate, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his Lagos residence. This meeting marks their first since the 2022 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries, where both were contenders.

During the closed-door meeting, Pastor Bakare emphasized his lifelong vision of witnessing a functional and prosperous Nigeria. He stated, "My personal vision is to see a nation that works in my lifetime." While specific details of their discussion remain confidential, Bakare expressed optimism about the country's future and highlighted the importance of unity across regional lines.

This visit follows Pastor Bakare's previous critiques of President Tinubu's administration. In an April 2025 address, he cautioned against "playing God" and urged for a more humble approach to governance. However, his recent engagement with the President suggests a willingness to collaborate for the nation's betterment.

The meeting has garnered attention, with many viewing it as a positive step towards fostering dialogue and unity in Nigeria.
