The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has issued a strong admonition to Nigerians, cautioning them against questioning the efficacy of prayer in shaping the destiny of the nation. Speaking during a recent church program, Pastor Adeboye emphasized that spiritual intervention remains a cornerstone in addressing Nigeria’s challenges, despite growing skepticism from some quarters.

He expressed concern that many citizens have begun to doubt whether prayers are making any difference in the country's current state of affairs. Pastor Adeboye urged believers not to lose faith, insisting that prayer is not only essential but also the most powerful weapon against corruption, insecurity, and poor governance. According to him, spiritual battles must be fought spiritually, and prayer remains a vital force behind every genuine transformation.

Pastor Adeboye noted that while physical efforts such as voting, civic activism, and reforms are important, they must be backed by persistent and sincere prayers. He stated that history has shown how divine intervention has reversed dire national situations in the past, and Nigeria is no exception. “Anyone who downplays prayer does so at their own peril,” he said, reiterating that God's timing and methods often transcend human understanding.

He also called on church leaders and congregations across the country to intensify their prayer efforts, especially in light of the current social and economic challenges facing Nigeria. Pastor Adeboye reaffirmed his belief that Nigeria will overcome its trials if its people continue to trust in God’s power and remain steadfast in prayer.
