Party of Failure, Pain, Anguish – Amaechi Slams APC in Resignation Letter
Omoyeni Olabode

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the ruling party as one that has brought “failure, pain, and anguish” to Nigerians. In a scathing resignation letter that has since gone viral, Amaechi expressed deep disappointment over the party’s direction and accused its leadership of betraying the ideals on which it was founded.
Amaechi, who played a pivotal role in the formation of the APC and the election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, said he could no longer align himself with a party that has “abandoned the people and glorifies mediocrity and impunity.”
The former Rivers State Governor did not reveal his next political move but urged Nigerians to rise above party loyalty and focus on rescuing the country. His resignation adds to the growing list of high-profile defections from the APC as tensions rise ahead of the 2027 general elections.
