The Chairman of Ondo West Local Government Area, Ayotunde Akinfolarin, has called on parents and guardians to make their children available for vaccination during the upcoming National Immunization Plus Days (NIPDs) scheduled for May.

Speaking ahead of the campaign, Akinfolarin emphasized the vital importance of protecting children from preventable diseases and urged full community participation to safeguard public health.

He commended the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (OSPHCDA) for its unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare across the state. He further pledged the local government’s full support towards mobilization and sensitization efforts, stressing that collective action is crucial to the success of the immunization campaign.

According to The Hope, the vaccination exercise will run from May 3 to May 6, 2025.

During the period, a variety of vaccines—including those for measles, routine immunizations, and the Human Papillomavirus (HPV)—as well as vitamin A supplements will be administered. To ensure wide coverage, health workers will be deployed to health centers, schools, churches, marketplaces, motor parks, and will also conduct door-to-door visits.

Akinfolarin expressed confidence that, through collaborative efforts among the local government, health workers, and community stakeholders, the immunization drive would achieve outstanding results.

He urged all residents to cooperate fully with health officials and to seize the opportunity to protect their children against life-threatening diseases.
