Okpebholo Warns Peter Obi: Don’t Visit Edo Without My Clearance
Omoyeni Olabode

Senator Monday Okpebholo has issued a stern warning to the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, cautioning him never to step foot in Edo State without obtaining his clearance. The Edo APC governorship candidate accused Obi of making political visits that disregard the authority of local stakeholders and are intended to stir unrest within the state.
Speaking to reporters in Benin City, Okpebholo said, “Let this be clear: nobody, not even Peter Obi, will be allowed to enter Edo and cause confusion without consulting the appropriate authorities. Edo is not a playground for political showmanship.” He insisted that Obi must respect the existing political structure and avoid unapproved movements that could disrupt public peace.
Okpebholo further stated that the people of Edo deserve stability and leadership rooted in responsibility, not visits from “outsiders trying to gain relevance.” According to him, Peter Obi’s previous engagements in the state were marked by what he described as “needless drama” and partisan tension that distracted from governance priorities.
