Nollywood Legend Chiwetalu Agu Refutes Death Rumours, Says He Is Healthy

Nollywood veteran Chiwetalu Agu has publicly debunked circulating rumours claiming he is dead, assuring fans and family that he is alive, healthy, and in good spirits. The 69-year-old actor addressed the false reports in a video shared on his official Instagram page on Friday, 12 September 2025.
In the video, Agu described the death rumours as “diabolical and misleading,” insisting that they are baseless and perpetuated by bloggers seeking engagement rather than facts. He also warned that those spreading false claims should be held accountable.
Agu stated emphatically: “Chief Chiwetalu Agu, okenmiri n’ezoru Oha 1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State is not going to die anytime soon. Instead I will be the one to bury my enemies. Na who dig pit go fall inside. Na who dig grave go fall inside. I am yet to carry my grandchildren and I must carry them in good health when my children are ready.”
The actor expressed disappointment that many people would readily share unverified news without confirming the truth, especially in this digital age. He urged the public to ignore the false reports and to report the pages responsible for spreading them.
