The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has released its first monthly performance report under the leadership of Bayo Ojulari, reflecting heightened transparency. The company announced revenues of ₦5.89 trillion and a profit after tax (PAT) of ₦748 billion for April 2025.
This improved financial disclosure follows years of opacity. Alongside robust earnings, NNPCL noted that petrol availability across its retail outlets stood at 54 percent, while upstream pipeline functionality reached 97 percent.
In the production front, crude oil and condensate output averaged 1.61 million barrels per day in April. Gas output also rose to 7,354 million standard cubic feet daily. The company reaffirmed its commitment to completing major gas infrastructure projects, reporting the Obiafu‑Obrikom‑Oben (OB3) pipeline at about 95 percent and the Ajaokuta‑Kaduna‑Kano (AKK) pipeline at approximately 70 percent completion.
Looking forward, NNPCL outlined plans for four significant final investment decisions (FIDs) by Q4 2025, targeting projects such as OML‑102, OML‑29, OML‑30, OML‑42, and the Brass Fertiliser initiative. Statutory transfers to the federal government reached ₦4.225 trillion in Q1 2025, underscoring the company's critical role in national revenue generation.
