NNPCL Cuts Petrol Pump Price to ₦1,370 Following Dangote Refinery Gantry Slash

State-owned oil firm Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has adjusted its retail petrol pump prices downward across major filling stations, responding to recent price cuts initiated by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
A market survey conducted on Wednesday morning, September 30, 2026, confirmed that NNPCL retail outlets in key areas of Abuja and surrounding regions—including Wuse Zone 4, Wuse Zone 6, and Air Junction—lowered their Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) rates to ₦1,370 per litre, down from ₦1,395 per litre. The ₦25 per litre reduction directly follows the Dangote Refinery lowering its ex-depot gantry price from ₦1,350 to ₦1,325 per litre, as falling global crude benchmark costs and reduced landing costs force domestic fuel distributors to pass cost relief down to consumers.
“A market survey... showed that NNPCL outlets in parts of Abuja and its environs had adjusted their petrol pump price downward to N1,370 per litre from N1,395 per litre. This means that the state-owned oil company reduced its fuel price by N25 per litre.”
