Nigerian Police, Fake 2025 Recruitment Notice

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has officially dismissed a recruitment advert that has been widely shared on social media, declaring it to be fake and unauthorized.

The bogus notice, titled “Nigeria Police Force Recruitment Exercise 2025,” claimed applications would open on 22 September 2025. It invited candidates with SSCE, OND, HND and B.Sc. qualifications across various disciplines, and listed stringent eligibility criteria, including strict age limits and specific physical requirements.

Among the fabricated requirements in the advert were: being a Nigerian by birth; having a valid National Identification Number; age between 18–25 for SSCE/OND holders, and up to 28 for those holding HND or B.Sc.; minimum heights of 1.70m for males and 1.64m for females; and five credits (including English Language and Mathematics) obtained in no more than two sittings.

The notice also directed applicants to submit documents such as birth certificates, certificates of origin, academic credentials, guarantor declarations, and to fill out an online form through a purported portal opening from 23 September 2025.

Speaking via social media, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, warned the public to disregard the notice, stressing that it did not come from the Force. He reminded Nigerians that no official recruitment exercise for 2025 has been announced.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) also issued a statement echoing the warnings. Ikechukwu Ani, PSC spokesman, reaffirmed that the Commission has not begun any recruitment for the Nigeria Police Force and urged those interested to watch for announcements only via official channels.
