Ned Nwoko’s Team Issues Statement on Arrest of Regina's best friend

Senator Ned Nwoko’s communication team has released an official statement to "set the record straight" regarding the arrest of Ann Izuegbu Anthonet (known as Ann), the best friend of his estranged wife, Regina Daniels.
The statement explicitly accuses Ann of endangering Regina's life and engaging in criminal defamation. A key portion of the statement reads:
“Ms. Izuegbu Anthonet was involved in procuring an illegal abortion for Daniels during her marriage to Nwoko by making her ‘swallow a bunch of weed that left her bleeding for weeks’ and loss of his unborn child.”
Beyond the health allegations, the statement also addressed claims of domestic violence that have circulated on social media:
“Ms. Izuegbu Anthonet was arrested in connection with criminally defamatory statements she publicly made, alleging that Senator Ned Munir Nwoko physically assaulted his wife, Mrs. Laila Nwoko, resulting in a miscarriage. These claims are entirely false. No such inciden1t occurred.”
Nwoko’s team dismissed Regina’s public defense of her friend as "false, reckless, and deliberately intended to distort the facts." They maintained that the arrest was a necessary legal response to what they describe as a coordinated effort to destroy the Senator’s reputation and cover up criminal activities.
