Malami’s Political Camp Clash Over Alleged N627bn Financial Mismanagement

A major political row has erupted in Kebbi State as the state government and supporters of former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN), trade fierce accusations over the management of state revenues totaling ₦627.14 billion.
The dispute escalated after the African Democratic Congress (ADC)—backed by Malami’s political network ahead of the 2027 general elections—issued a public demand requiring Governor Nasir Idris's administration to account for ₦627.14 billion in revenues allegedly received between May 2023 and October 2025.

The opposition coalition challenged the state government to publish line-item disclosures of expenditure, revenue accruals, and executed infrastructure projects. Responding firmly, the Kebbi State Government dismissed the claims as politically motivated, clarifying that Malami’s camp conflated projected budgetary estimates with actual cash inflow received into state accounts.
