25-Day Power Outage

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that the entire Lagos State and some parts of Ogun will experience a 25-day power outage starting from Sunday, July 28. According to the notice, the scheduled outage is due to critical maintenance work and upgrade of transmission infrastructure at the Ikeja West Substation.

The blackout, which will last from July 28 to August 21, is expected to affect power supply to areas served by the Ikeja Electric and Eko Electricity Distribution Company. TCN explained that the project involves replacing old circuit breakers and carrying out essential upgrades to improve power reliability in the long term.

Residents have expressed concern over the lengthy duration of the outage, particularly its impact on businesses and households. Electricity providers have advised customers to explore alternative power sources and plan accordingly during the period.
