Kingsley Moghalu Rejects Inclusion in Atiku’s 2027 Campaign Policy Team, Reaffirms Non-Partisan Stance

Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and 2019 presidential candidate, Professor Kingsley Moghalu, has publicly rejected his inclusion in former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s 2027 presidential campaign policy team, declaring that he was neither consulted nor gave his consent to be listed.
The clarification followed a public announcement by the Atiku Abubakar and African Democratic Congress (ADC) campaign council unveiling its organizational structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released via his social media handles, Moghalu expressed surprise at seeing his name published as a member of the campaign’s policy advisory unit, firmly distancing himself from any role, official or unofficial, in Atiku's campaign apparatus.

“For the record: I was not consulted and did not give my consent to my name being published as a member of the ADC candidate's policy team. I am NOT, in fact, a member of Atiku's policy team, even unofficially or in any advisory capacity... I have quit partisan politics in Nigeria since 2022. I have maintained, and continue to maintain, my non-partisan posture in our country's national affairs... I have adopted the path of statesmanship, not partisanship.”

Moghalu emphasized that his focus remains entirely on non-partisan policy research, executive education, and economic strategy through his leadership roles as President of the Institute for Governance and Economic Transformation (IGET Africa) and Chief Executive Officer of Sogato Strategies.

While reaffirming his commitment to national development, he stressed that contributing to Nigeria's growth does not require alignment with any political party or candidate.
