Grammy-winning artist and controversial public figure formerly known as Kanye West has once again changed his legal name—this time to “Ye Ye”. According to filings obtained by Page Six and Vulture, new business documents in California have updated his name from “Ye West” to “Ye Ye,” reflecting the change across entities including Yeezy Apparel and Yeezy Record Label LLC .
The shift marks a second official modification to his name since 2021, when he dropped “Kanye Omari West” in favor of simply “Ye.” The most recent paperwork, filed by his CFO, Hussain Lalani, doesn’t indicate whether “Ye Ye” is a full legal name or a stylistic alteration—but it is now the name under which his businesses are registered .
So far, Ye has not publicly announced the change on social media, though insiders note he has been increasingly insistent on being addressed by his self-chosen identity. Rumors suggest this rebranding extends his broader campaign to redefine his public image amid ongoing controversies .
This development underscores Ye’s ongoing efforts to control his narrative and personal identity. From “Kanye West” to “Ye” and now “Ye Ye,” the evolution appears to reflect his desire for autonomy and distancing from past associations—continuing a trend that has captivated fans and media alike.
