Kano Celebrates the Return of Twins Hassana and Hussaina After Successful Separation Surgery in Saudi Arabia

Hassana and Hussaina, the conjoined twin girls from Kano State, have safely returned home following a successful separation surgery in Saudi Arabia.


The twins were flown to Saudi in October 2023, under the care of a specialist medical team from both Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. Their operation was carried out by a large multidisciplinary group, including paediatric surgeons and neurosurgeons.


On Friday, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf formally received Hassana and Hussaina, expressing gratitude to all those involved in their treatment. State officials also commended the Saudi medical authorities, and the humanitarian programme that made the surgery possible.


The twins are now under follow-up care in Kano, with local medical teams monitoring their recovery and providing ongoing support.
