Judge Threatens to Remove Diddy from Courtroom for Staring Down Jurors

In a tense moment during Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex‑trafficking trial in Manhattan, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian issued a stern warning: Combs could be removed from the courtroom if he continued to direct facial expressions and nods toward jurors. The judge’s admonition followed Combs making persistent eye contact and "nodding vigorously" during witness testimony.
The incident occurred during the cross‑examination of Bryana “Bana” Bongolan—a friend of Combs’ former partner, Cassie Ventura—whose testimony included harrowing allegations that Combs dangled her off a 17th‑floor balcony in 2016. As the defense probed inconsistencies in her account, the judge observed Combs’ behavior and halted proceedings. "That is unacceptable," Subramanian said, warning that continued attempts to influence jurors would lead to "curative instructions or other measures including barring your client from the courtroom"
Combs’ attorney assured the court, “No, Your Honor, it’s not going to happen again.” Despite the momentary interruption, court observers say the rapper has largely remained composed. However, jurors and court staff have reportedly noticed his repeated gestures—such as nodding, eye contact, and subtle facial expressions—prompting the judge’s decisive rebuke to uphold courtroom decorum.
The tension underscores the gravity and intensity of the trial, which centers on charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. With powerful testimony from women like Bongolan and Cassie Ventura, Judge Subramanian is determined to ensure fairness and impartiality, enforcing strict boundaries to prevent any influence on the jury as the case moves forward into its fourth week
