Iowa Boy Born at 21 Weeks Breaks Record as World’s Most Premature Baby

A baby boy from Iowa, USA, has been officially named the world’s most premature baby to survive, according to the Guinness World Records. Born at just 21 weeks and one day of pregnancy, the child, named Curtis Means, defied the odds after arriving more than 19 weeks early.
Curtis weighed only 420 grams (less than one pound) at birth and was given just a 1% chance of survival. Doctors and nurses at the University of Alabama at Birmingham hospital worked around the clock, using advanced medical care to keep him alive. He spent several months in the neonatal intensive care unit before being allowed to go home.
Now healthy and growing, Curtis is a living miracle and a symbol of hope for families facing similar challenges. His mother thanked the hospital team for never giving up on her son, calling it “a blessing from God.”
