INEC, Fraudulent Recruitment Scams

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a strong warning to Nigerians, urging them to disregard any recruitment advertisements or messages that direct them to the website inecrecruitment.com, which the Commission confirms is not affiliated with its official operations.

In an official statement, INEC clarified that it is not recruiting at this time, and described the circulating advert as the work of criminals seeking to exploit job seekers through fake offers. INEC reiterated that the portal in question is fraudulent and should not be trusted.

The electoral body reminded the public that it will always communicate genuine recruitment adverts through its verified channels, its official website and recognised social media pages, and will never ask applicants to pay fees or use unofficial sites for recruitment purposes.

INEC also described the impersonators behind the fake adverts as “employment merchants and racketeers” who issue bogus employment letters purporting to be from the Commission. Nigerians are urged to take caution, verify sources, and report suspicious recruitment activities to the relevant authorities.
